Adoption and fostering
For families going through the adoption and fostering process, Jofli bear can offer comfort and companionship. He is used as a valuable resource by professionals; the Jofli Fostering Story journal has been created in direct consultation with carers and social workers, to answer some of the questions children in care might have about fostering.
Jofli bear can help to introduce a child to a new environment by adding photos to the journal of the house, pets and family members. Looking at photos of Jofli in his new setting can encourage children to ask questions and share their concerns in their own way, so that when they move to their new home they will already feel some connection with the environment, to help ease their transition and reduce anxiety.
Jofli and his journals can continue being used with children for their ‘lifebook’ work; writing, drawing and adding their photos about their 'Journey of Life', past, present and future. This can be done by hand, like a scrap book, or online by uploading photos and images to view in a secure online journal, which can be printed whenever required.
If you are a foster carer you can find the Fostering Storyjournal in the online shop. If you are an agency, and would like to discuss a partnership with Jofli Bear, please contact us for more information.
